Having visted the Cafe Treff on many occasions I now feel we can give an honest opinion.We have never been disapointed with the excellence of service(in spite of the fact it is obviously a very popular venue in the heart of Ambleside) .The choice of `refreshment` be it the numerous hot or cold drinks available or the substantial display of confectionary is exceptional and quite honestly hard to resist. Having also visited Switzerland over the years it is quite obvious where the heart of the Cafe was.There is no doubt this is the perfect location for anyone visiting the Lakes area and re-living a Swiss experience.

called in last week for my usual Chai Latte. as ever it was beautiful and worth the money i paid for it. we were staying in Keswick that week and we tried the Square Orange. would you please advise them how to make Chai Latte correctly. not a patch on yours. many thnaks, see you next visit.

Cafe Treff has been my favourite for years now, having tried most of the others and been disappointed. I particularly rate the choice, the freshness of the ingredients and the delicious cakes (especially the organic carrot cake!). There's a nice ambience - especially when it's raining and you can look out of the window from your snug warm corner! You might get a bit squashed when the cafe's full, but I've never had a poor lunch or coffee break here and for that reason, I give it 5 stars.

Where do we start..... We've being visiting here for many years and we've always had excellent service, wonderful food but the coffee is the best nero's, costa etc need to be taught the Treff way

It is so nice and rewarding knowing that is a proper treat to visit this wonderful cafe which pays so much attention and detail to serve the perfect cappuccino, definately the best I have ever tried!.

The best cappuccino I have ever had! (seriously). The soup and sandwich was top quality and the service friendly. There were so many things on the menu I would have liked to try. Brilliant cafe!! I'll definitely be visiting again. Only problem is, I wish it was nearer London!!

What a superb coffee shop, the food is prepared to order (not pre-packed like some places) so you may have to wait but it’s worth it, the staff and nice and friendly, don't miss the mouth-watering cakes and the really super coffee. This coffee shop is a “MUST VISIT” when your next in Ambleside

This cosy cafe always has a delicious choice of hearty savory foods and desserts.You always get a friendly welcome and service .I can honestly say the food is SO much better quality than lunches at Langdale Chase .Can't wait for the next walk which ends in a visit there !

Great cafe in the centre of the village to have a coffee and a cake and watch the world go by. I have found that it is the perfect place start or end to a day out on the fells!

There is a lovely cafe in Ambleside called Cafe-Treff, which serves soup, amazing lunches & hot drinks, cakes, etc. The cakes taste just like Belgian ones. Lovely hot chocolate, both dark and white, I highly recommend this cafe.

Outstanding Coffee and Tea Now this place really knows its coffee. Excellent cappuccino served well If tea is your favourite drink checkout the extensive choice, served loose-leaf in glass teapots. Great to find an independent coffee shop that is passionate about their offerings. Check it out on your next trip to Ambleside.
